Bee Dance
The bee dance is a method honeybees use to communicate the location of food sources to their hive mates. When a forager bee finds nectar or pollen, it returns to the hive and performs a specific dance—called the "waggle dance"—by moving in a figure-eight pattern while waggling its abdomen. The direction of the dance relative to the hive indicates the direction of the food source, and the duration of the waggle phase reflects how far away it is. This sophisticated communication allows other bees to efficiently locate and gather resources.
