Becquerel (Bq) is a unit that measures radioactivity, specifically the rate at which unstable atoms decay and emit radiation. One becquerel equals one decay event per second. For example, if a sample has 1 Bq of activity, it means its atoms are decaying at a rate of one atom every second.
