BECCS technology

BECCS (Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage) is a technology that produces energy from plants or organic materials (biomass) while capturing and storing the resulting carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions underground. The process involves burning biomass for electricity or heat, then using special systems to trap the CO₂ before it reaches the atmosphere. This captured CO₂ is compressed and injected into deep geological formations, effectively removing it from the air. BECCS can help reduce overall greenhouse gas levels and support climate goals by generating energy while achieving negative emissions.
