BECCS

BECCS, or Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage, is a technology that generates energy from biomass (like plants or crops) while capturing and storing the carbon dioxide released during the process. Essentially, plants absorb CO₂ as they grow, and using them for energy keeps that carbon out of the atmosphere. The CO₂ emitted when the biomass is burned is then captured and stored underground, preventing its return to the atmosphere. BECCS is seen as a way to produce renewable energy while actively reducing overall carbon levels, supporting efforts to combat climate change.
