Beall's List
Beall's List was a resource created by librarian Jeffrey Beall to identify potential "predatory" open-access publishers and journals—those that publish research quickly for profit without rigorous peer review or ethical standards. The list aimed to help researchers and academics distinguish reputable outlets from exploitative ones that may compromise scientific integrity. Although Beall's List was discontinued in 2017, it raised awareness about the importance of quality control in scholarly publishing and highlighted the need for vigilance against deceptive practices in academic publishing.
