Beaked whales are a group of deep-diving marine mammals known for their slender bodies and elongated beaks, which resemble bird beaks. They are part of the dolphin family and are typically elusive, living mostly underwater at great depths to hunt for squid and fish. Beaked whales are found in oceans worldwide, often deep offshore. They are generally shy, making them difficult to study.
