BDP (Bandwidth Delay Product)

Bandwidth Delay Product (BDP) is a measurement of the amount of data that can be in transit within a network at any given moment. It’s calculated by multiplying the network’s bandwidth (how much data can be transferred per second) by the latency (the time it takes for data to travel from source to destination). Essentially, BDP indicates the optimal size of the data buffer or window needed to fully utilize the network's capacity without waiting for more data to arrive. Understanding BDP helps in tuning network settings for efficient data transfer and avoiding congestion.
