BCA assay
The BCA (Bicinchoninic Acid) assay is a laboratory method used to measure the amount of protein in a sample. It works by detecting proteins based on their ability to reduce copper ions, turning them into a color change. The BCA reagent reacts with these copper ions and produces a purple color, the intensity of which correlates with the protein concentration. This color change can be measured with a spectrophotometer, allowing scientists to accurately determine how much protein is present in their sample.
