Bayt al-Hikmah

Bayt al-Hikmah, or the House of Wisdom, was an important cultural and intellectual center in Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age (8th to 13th centuries). It functioned as a major hub for translating, preserving, and expanding knowledge across various fields like science, mathematics, medicine, philosophy, and literature. Scholars from diverse backgrounds gathered there to share ideas, conduct research, and develop innovations. The House of Wisdom played a key role in advancing human knowledge and acted as a bridge between different cultures, helping to preserve and transmit classical Greek and Roman works to the wider world.
