Bayezid I
Bayezid I, also known as Bayezid the Thunderbolt, was the Ottoman Sultan from 1389 to 1402. He expanded the Ottoman Empire significantly, conquering parts of the Balkans and challenging rival powers. His military prowess earned him respect, but his reign was marked by conflicts, including a significant defeat by Timur (Tamerlane) at the Battle of Ankara in 1402.
