Bawm people

The Bawm are an indigenous ethnic group primarily living in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh and parts of India. They belong to the Tibeto-Burman language family and have a distinct culture, traditions, and language. Traditionally, the Bawm practice agriculture, growing crops like rice, and they celebrate their heritage through festivals, music, and crafts. They maintain strong community ties and have their own social customs. Despite pressures from modernization, the Bawm continue to preserve their identity and cultural practices, contributing to the rich diversity of the region's indigenous peoples.
