Battle of Tippecanoe
The Battle of Tippecanoe took place in 1811 near present-day Indiana. American forces, led by Governor William Henry Harrison, fought against Native American warriors led by Tecumseh's brother, Tenskwentawah. The conflict was part of resistance against American expansion into Native lands and tensions between Native groups and settlers. Harrison’s troops struck a victory, damaging Tecumseh’s confederation but also fueling Native resistance. The battle increased tensions that contributed to the War of 1812. It is considered a pivotal event in U.S. frontier history and helped boost Harrison’s political career.
