Battle of the Cantabrians

The Battle of the Cantabrians took place around 29-19 BCE during the Roman conquest of the Iberian Peninsula. The Cantabrians were fierce, independent tribes in northern Spain who fiercely resisted Roman rule. Despite their guerrilla tactics and tough terrain, Roman forces, led by General Titus Pullo and others, gradually subdued them through a combination of military campaigns and fortifications. The battle marked the final phase of Rome’s conquest, resulting in the incorporation of the Cantabrian tribes into the Roman Empire, which expanded Roman control and influence over the region.
