Battle of Tawang

The Battle of Tawang occurred in December 1962 when India and China clashed over the strategic Tawang region in northeastern India. Tawang is close to the India-China border and holds significant cultural and military importance. China launched an attack aiming to assert control over the area, which resulted in Indian forces defending their territory. Despite being outnumbered, Indian troops resisted valiantly. The conflict ended with a Chinese withdrawal, and India retained control of Tawang. This battle highlighted regional tensions and underscored the importance of border defenses in the long-standing India-China border dispute.
