The Battle of Red Cliffs, fought in AD 208-209, was a significant conflict during China's late Eastern Han dynasty, marking the start of the Three Kingdoms period. It was a showdown between the warlord Cao Cao, who aimed to unify China, and the allied forces of Sun Quan and Liu Bei. Set along the Yangtze River, the battle showcased strategic brilliance and naval tactics. Despite being outnumbered, the allies used clever strategies to exploit Cao Cao’s weaknesses, ultimately defeating him. This battle changed the power dynamics in China and laid the groundwork for the eventual formation of the Three Kingdoms.
