Battle of Nowshera
The Battle of Nowshera, fought in 1825, was a significant conflict between the Sikh Empire and the Durrani Afghan forces in present-day Pakistan. The Sikhs aimed to expand their territory into Afghanistan, challenging Afghan control over the region. Despite tough resistance from Afghan troops, the Sikhs won the battle, establishing stronger control over parts of western Punjab and northern Pakistan. This victory marked a key step in Sikh expansion and the decline of Afghan influence in the area, shaping the region’s political landscape in the 19th century.
