Battle of Muktsar
The Battle of Muktsar, fought in 1705, was a significant conflict between the Sikh warriors and the Mughal Empire in present-day Punjab, India. Sikh defenders, outnumbered and facing persecution, fought fiercely to protect their faith and community. The battle is notable for the sacrifice of 40 Sikh soldiers, known as the “Muktsar” (meaning “end of theλm”) because many Sikhs had previously abandoned their faith and later redeemed themselves through bravery. This event strengthened Sikh unity and resilience, ultimately contributing to their struggle for religious freedom and independence from Mughal oppression.
