Battle of Königsgrätz
The Battle of Königsgrätz, also known as the Battle of Sadowa (1866), was a decisive conflict during the Austro-Prussian War. It took place near Königsgrätz (now Hradec Králové) in what is now the Czech Republic. Prussia, led by Otto von Bismarck, fought Austria and its allies. The Prussian army used superior tactics and modern mobilization to encircle and defeat the Austrian forces. The victory allowed Prussia to dominate Germany, leading to the exclusion of Austria from German affairs and paving the way for the unification of Germany under Prussian leadership.
