Battle of Cape Esperance

The Battle of Cape Esperance was a naval battle during World War II, fought near Guadalcanal in October 1942. It involved American and Japanese cruisers and destroyers engaging in a night-time fight. The U.S. Navy successfully intercepted and attacked a Japanese force attempting to reinforce their troops on Guadalcanal.
