Battle of Bosworth Field

The Battle of Bosworth Field, fought on August 22, 1485, was a decisive conflict during the Wars of the Roses, a series of civil wars in England between the houses of Lancaster and York. This battle marked the end of the Yorkist dynasty and the rise of the Tudor dynasty. King Richard III of York was defeated by the forces of Henry Tudor, a Lancastrian claimant. Richard was killed in battle, and Henry was crowned King Henry VII, establishing the Tudor line and ultimately leading to a period of relative stability in England.
