Battle of Asal Uttar

The Battle of Asal Uttar took place in September 1965 during the India-Pakistan conflict. It was a significant land battle where Indian forces successfully defended against a Pakistani armored attack on the border region near Asal Uttar. The Indian Army used strategic positioning and effective use of anti-tank weapons to stop the advancing Pakistani tanks, preventing them from crossing deeper into Indian territory. This battle is considered a major Indian victory, as it halted the Pakistani advance and saved many Indian lives and land. It also earned the nickname “Lion of Asal Uttar” for Indian Army bravery.
