batting types
Batting types refer to a batter’s preferred stance and approach at the plate, primarily categorized as right-handed or left-handed. A right-handed batter stands on the left side of home plate and swings with their right hand dominant, while a left-handed batter stands on the right side, swinging with their left hand dominant. These differences affect how they see the ball and face pitchers, influencing their strategy and effectiveness. Some batters may also be switch-hitters, able to bat from either side, providing flexibility against different pitchers.
