Batista regime
The Batista regime refers to the government led by Fulgencio Batista in Cuba, who ruled the country as a military dictator from 1952 to 1959. His government was characterized by widespread corruption, support from wealthy elites and foreign businesses, and limited political freedoms. Batista's regime was unpopular among many Cubans because of inequality and repression, leading to a strong revolutionary movement. In 1959, Batista was overthrown by Fidel Castro and his rebels, paving the way for Cuba's socialist government.
