Bathygadus rastrinus

Bathygadus rastrinus is a deep-sea fish belonging to the grenadiers or rattails family, found in cold, deep ocean waters. It has a slender, elongated body with a large head and a prominent snout. Its coloration is typically dark or brownish, helping it blend into the depths. As a bottom-dweller, it feeds on smaller fish and invertebrates. Adapted to high-pressure, low-light environments, B. rastrinus plays a role in deep-sea ecosystems. Due to its habitat, it is rarely encountered and often caught as bycatch in deep-sea fishing.
