Bassoon
The bassoon is a woodwind instrument with a long, fingered, wooden tube that produces sound when the player blows air into a double reed—a small, thin piece of cane. It has a deep, rich tone and is known for its wide range and expressive capabilities. The bassoon is often used in orchestras and band ensembles, providing bass and harmonic support, and can also perform melodic solos. Its playing involves precise control of breath, fingerings, and embouchure (mouth position) to produce its distinctive, resonant sound.
