Bashir's Regime

Bashir's regime refers to Omar al-Bashir's authoritarian rule over Sudan from 1989 to 2019. He seized power through a military coup, establishing a government characterized by suppression of political opposition, human rights abuses, and economic challenges. His administration struggled with internal conflicts, notably in Darfur, leading to widespread violence and unrest. Despite initial support, Bashir's rule faced increasing criticism and protests, ultimately ending when he was ousted by the military in April 2019. His leadership left Sudan with ongoing political instability as the country attempts to transition to civilian governance.
