Basel cell carcinoma (cancer)

Basal cell carcinoma is the most common type of skin cancer, originating from basal cells in the outer skin layer. It often appears as a pearly or waxy bump, a flat scar-like lesion, or a sore that heals and then reopens. Commonly caused by prolonged sun exposure or UV radiation, it grows slowly and rarely spreads to other parts of the body. Early detection and treatment, usually through minor surgical procedures, are highly effective. While it is usually not life-threatening if treated promptly, neglecting it can lead to local tissue damage and disfigurement.
