Base Station (Telecommunications)
A base station in telecommunications is a fixed point that connects mobile devices, such as smartphones, to a network. It transmits and receives radio signals, enabling phone calls, text messages, and internet access. Base stations are part of cellular networks, typically linked together in a grid, allowing seamless communication as users move from one area to another. Each base station covers a specific geographic area, known as a cell, and collectively, they ensure that users can remain connected over wide distances.
