Base Camp (K2)

Base Camp at K2 is the initial logistics hub for climbers attempting the mountain, serving as a staging area where climbers acclimate to high altitudes, organize gear, and plan their ascent. Located at approximately 5,150 meters (16,900 feet) on the Pakistani side of the Karakoram Range, it provides essential facilities like shelters and communication equipment. The camp acts as a starting point for further ascents toward higher, more challenging sections of K2, helping climbers gradually adapt to the extreme environment while coordinating supplies and safety measures.
