Base (Baseball)

In baseball, a base refers to one of the four points on the diamond-shaped field that players must touch to score runs. The bases are first base, second base, third base, and home plate. Players advance through the bases in a counter-clockwise direction after hitting the ball. A run is scored when a player successfully reaches home plate after touching all four bases in order.
