Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC)
Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) is the most common type of skin cancer, originating from the basal cells in the deepest layer of the skin's outer layer. It often appears as a pearly or waxy bump, a flat sore that heals and then reopens, or a patch of skin that looks like scar tissue. Usually caused by prolonged sunlight exposure, BCC tends to grow slowly and rarely spreads to other parts of the body. Early detection and treatment, such as surgery or topical medications, are highly effective. Regular skin checks help catch BCC early and prevent more serious issues.
