Baryonic matter

Baryonic matter refers to the ordinary matter composed of protons, neutrons, and electrons—the building blocks of atoms. This is the material that makes up stars, planets, and living things. Baryons are the particles that give matter mass and structure. Although most of the universe's energy is in dark matter and dark energy, baryonic matter accounts for about 5% of the universe's total energy content. It includes all the familiar matter we interact with daily, from dust to giant galaxies, and can be observed through telescopes and experiments.
