BART Safe Place Program
The BART Safe Place Program is an initiative by the Bay Area Rapid Transit system designed to promote safety and support for vulnerable populations, such as the homeless, youth, or individuals in distress. Participating locations, including transit stations and partner businesses, display visible signage indicating they’re safe spaces where people can seek help, rest, or find resources. Staff and volunteers are trained to assist and connect individuals to appropriate services. The program aims to create a supportive environment within the transit system, encouraging safety, respect, and access to assistance for all riders.
