Barrow (Utqiaġvik)

Barrow, officially known as Utqiaġvik, is the northernmost city in the United States, located in Alaska within the Arctic Circle. It has a polar climate characterized by long, extremely cold winters and short, cool summers. The community is traditionally inhabited by the Inupiaq people, who rely on subsistence fishing and hunting. Utqiaġvik features unique natural phenomena, such as the midnight sun during summer and polar night in winter, when the sun doesn't rise for about two months. Its remote location and Arctic environment make it a significant site for climate research and indigenous culture.
