Barrier architecture
Barrier architecture in cybersecurity refers to a layered design of defenses that protect computer systems and networks. Think of it like multiple security fences around a property: if an intruder bypasses one fence, others remain to stop them. Each layer employs different security measures, such as firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection, and access controls, working together to detect, prevent, and respond to threats. This approach reduces the risk of a successful attack by creating multiple hurdles, making it more difficult for cyber threats to penetrate core systems and data.
