Baronetcy

A baronetcy is a hereditary title awarded by the British Crown, ranking below barons but above most knighthoods. It confers the title “Baronet” on an individual, allowing them to be addressed as "Sir," similar to a knight, but unlike knighthoods, it is inherited by descendants. The creation of a baronetcy often recognized distinguished service, wealth, or loyalty to the monarchy. It does not grant peerage or a seat in the House of Lords but is considered a hereditary honor that establishes a family's social standing within the British aristocracy.
