Barcol hardness test

The Barcol hardness test measures how resistant a material, typically plastic or composite, is to indentation. A specially calibrated tool, called a Barcol impressor, presses a small, sharp point into the material’s surface. The depth of the indentation indicates the material’s hardness—shallower dents mean a harder material.
