Bantu migrations
The Bantu migrations refer to the movement of Bantu-speaking peoples across much of sub-Saharan Africa over thousands of years, starting around 1000 BCE. These migrations involved groups gradually spreading from their original homeland in West-Central Africa into Central, East, and Southern Africa. As they migrated, they introduced agriculture, ironworking, and new languages, which influenced the cultures and populations of the regions they settled. The process was gradual, involving both movement and cultural exchange, shaping much of Africa’s linguistic and cultural diversity today.
