Bankers’ rounding

Bankers’ rounding, also known as round half to even, is a method used to round numbers that are exactly halfway between two values. Instead of consistently rounding up or down, it rounds to the nearest even number. For example, 2.5 rounds to 2, and 3.5 rounds to 4. This approach minimizes bias in large datasets by evenly distributing rounded values, making averages and statistical calculations more accurate over many instances. It is commonly used in financial and statistical computations to ensure fairness and consistency.
