Bankart Repair

A Bankart repair is a surgical procedure to fix a specific injury to the shoulder joint, often caused by dislocation. When the shoulder dislocates, a small piece of cartilage and the surrounding tissue can tear, weakening the joint's stability. During the procedure, a surgeon reattaches the torn labrum (a cartilage rim) to the shoulder socket using tiny anchors and sutures. This helps restore the shoulder’s stability, reduces the risk of future dislocations, and promotes proper healing. The goal is to allow normal shoulder movement while preventing recurrent dislocations.
