Balfour Report
The Balfour Report was a 1926 British document that set out a new relationship between the United Kingdom and its self-governing Dominions like Canada, Australia, and South Africa. It declared these Dominions were equal in status, autonomous, and responsible for their own domestic and foreign affairs, while still recognizing the British monarch as their symbolic head. This report marked an important step toward full independence for these countries, emphasizing their sovereignty and self-governance, and laid the foundation for their future constitutional independence within the British Commonwealth.
