Baldwin of Boulogne was a nobleman from northern France who became a prominent medieval leader. He played a key role during the First Crusade (1096–1099), helping to capture Jerusalem and establish the Kingdom of Jerusalem. After the crusade, Baldwin became the first king of Jerusalem, ruling from 1100 until his death in 1118. Known for his leadership and strategic skill, Baldwin helped shape the early history of the Crusader states in the Middle East.
