balanced twisted-pair cables

A balanced twisted-pair cable consists of two insulated copper wires twisted around each other, which helps reduce electrical noise and interference from nearby electronic devices or signals. Both wires carry the same signal but with opposite electrical charges (called differential signaling). When the signals are combined at the receiving end, any noise that affected both wires equally cancels out, resulting in clearer, more reliable data transmission. These cables are commonly used for telephone lines, Ethernet networks, and audio connections because they efficiently transmit information over longer distances while minimizing interference.
