Bakrid
Bakrid, also known as Eid al-Adha, is an important Islamic festival honoring the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. It coincides with the completion of the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. Muslims celebrate by performing special prayers, sharing festive meals, and often sacrificing an animal such as a goat, sheep, cow, or camel. The meat is distributed among family, friends, and those in need. The festival emphasizes themes of faith, sacrifice, charity, and community, and typically lasts for several days.
