Bailiwick of Guernsey
The Bailiwick of Guernsey is a self-governing collection of islands, including Guernsey, Alderney, Sark, and some smaller islands, located in the English Channel. It has its own legal and political systems, separate from the United Kingdom, but the UK is responsible for defense and international representation. The islands have their own parliament, the States of Deliberation, and operate with a high degree of autonomy to manage local affairs, taxes, and legislation. Despite this independence, they maintain close ties with the UK and are part of the British Crown’s overarching sovereignty.
