Bail bonds

Bail bonds are financial agreements that help ensure a person released from jail returns for their court dates. When someone can't afford the full bail amount set by the court, a bail bondsman can post the bail on their behalf, usually charging a non-refundable fee (typically 10% of the total bail). In exchange, the person promises to attend court hearings. If they fail to appear, the bail bondsman may be responsible for paying the full amount, and the individual could face additional legal consequences. Bail bonds provide a way for defendants to secure temporary release while awaiting trial or sentencing.
