Bagration Offensive
The Bagration Offensive was a major Soviet military campaign during World War II, launched in June 1944 against German forces in Belarus. Named after General Pyotr Bagration, it aimed to destroy German Army Group Center. With a surprise attack, the Soviets used superior manpower and tactics to achieve rapid success, leading to significant territorial gains and the encirclement of German units. The offensive severely weakened the German front, contributing to the Soviet advance toward Eastern Europe and showcasing the effectiveness of Soviet planning and resources, ultimately accelerating the decline of Nazi Germany.
