Baghdadi (Caliphate)

The Baghdadi Caliphate was an extremist group led by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who proclaimed himself a caliph in 2014, aiming to establish a religious Islamic state across parts of Iraq and Syria. It was associated with ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) and sought to implement its strict interpretation of Sharia law through violent tactics, including terrorism and territorial control. The caliphate was declared null and was militarily defeated by global coalition forces by 2019. Despite its collapse, the ideology and some supporters persist, influencing ongoing conflicts and radicalization efforts.
