Baffin Bay
Baffin Bay is a large, ice-covered body of water located between Greenland and northern Canada. It connects to the Atlantic Ocean through narrow channels and is part of the Arctic region. The bay plays a crucial role in the environment, supporting diverse marine life like polar bears, seals, and whales. Because of its cold climate, it is mostly covered with sea ice for much of the year. Baffin Bay is important for climate studies, ocean currents, and indigenous communities, but ongoing climate change is reducing ice cover and impacting the local ecosystem.
