Baddeley model
The Baddeley model of working memory describes how our brain temporarily holds and manages information needed for tasks. It consists of three main parts: the phonological loop, which handles spoken and written information; the visuospatial sketchpad, which manages visual and spatial data; and the central executive, which directs attention and controls the other two components. This system allows us to hold and manipulate information short-term, like remembering a phone number or navigating to a location, enabling us to perform complex cognitive tasks effectively.
